New Troop G Headquarters Plans Move Forward (Albany, NY - March 13, 2009) - Plans to build a new Troop G Headquarters for the New York State Police continue to move forward. As a result of major deficiencies and the outdated state of the current facility built in Loudonville in 1957, the State Police initiated relocation plans in January of 2003. Legislation authorized the sale of the current Troop G Headquarters property to Siena College in August of 2003, and in June of 2006 the transfer of ownership was executed. State Police anticipate breaking ground for site preparation in June of this year.

I have been a member of the New York State Police for twenty years, and serving as
Troop "C" Recruitment Officer as well as the Public Information Officer for the past
four years. Previously I was an investigator assigned to the Community Narcotics Enforcement
Team, also known as "CNET".
After completing my commitment with the U.S. Air Force, I spent the next decade working
in the computer field. During that time I became interested in pursuing a career with
the New York State Police. That decision was a pivotal point in my life, one that rounded
out and enriched all other areas making me the person I am today. My service as a State
Trooper has encompassed events such as the devastations of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina,
and the flood of 2006 to our local area. Other rewarding experiences have been participating
in the Special Olympics Torch Runs and as a Car Seat Technician, educating parents
and caregivers on the safety of their loved ones.
As Public Information Officer, my job is to notify the public, including the media,
about breaking news, scheduled press conferences and other important events. As the
Recruitment Officer, my responsibilities include informing, tracking, updating, advising
and giving guidance to potential state police candidates during the hiring process.
This fulfilling career has allowed me to act as mentor to both young people and adults
and the rewards have been great. Share the experience of many great men and women who
have gone before you and join the ranks of the New York State Police!

not anticipate conducting another exam in the near future.
