"Hi, my name is Tpr. Bullis and I have served 22 years as a New York State Trooper. We are a reflection of society, so the description of our duties adjust with the different communities we serve. Opportunities and experiences are around every corner. That's what I like about our job. The knowledge you gain through the experiences you encounter is unmeasurable. I recommend our job to anyone who likes to stay active and wants to be associated with an organization that strives for excellence."
"Historically, the New York State Police test once every four years. A candidate must be 20 years old and a U.S. Citizen to take our exam. The Processing Weekend is the second step in our hiring process. This may not take place right away. When it does, the candidate will have to meet the requirements listed on the home page of NYTrooper.com. Consider us in the future."
The "Candidate Processing Weekend" is described at nytrooper.com under "Employment", then scroll down to "Selection Process". This second step, for invited candidates only, will take place on April 05 and 06, 2014 at the NYSP Academy. Those candidates who successfully pass the hurdles of this processing weekend will continue with further steps to take as described under "Selection Process". (fingerprinting, interview with state psychologist, background investigation, etc.) The 50 days following the "Processing Weekend" will be important to a candidate.
Remember to exceed the physical fitness standards and keep your contact information up to date.
